Mackenzie Reide is a mechanical engineer, writer, and adventurer. She also dabbles in aerospace, so yes, you can call her a rocket scientist. She loves to see strong girls in stories which is reflected in her middle grade trilogy The Adventurers: The Mystery of Troll Creek, The Mask of the Troll and The Mine Caper as well as her short story ZOWS in the Brave New Girls: Gals and Gizmos science fiction anthology for young adults. For adult science fiction readers, her short stories Cascadia and Asteroid XXII are part of the Infinite Dimensions series. If you like alternate history, you can read her short story Shifting Gears in the anthology Altered States of the Union. She is currently working on a screenplay adaptation of the first book in The Adventurers trilogy and a new sci-fi adventure for tweens.
